A Dynamic Atmosphere

Held at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Center, the conference was a hive of activity right from the start. Located in the heart of Antwerp, the venue provided a spacious and modern setting for the many sessions, workshops and networking opportunities. Attendees navigated through a packed agenda of keynote speeches, technical sessions and panel discussions highlighting the latest research and technological breakthroughs.

Hexa-X-II’s Contributions

Hexa-X-II had a significant and influential presence at the summit as the project organised and participated in several key workshops and sessions during the event.

One of the highlights was the 6G series by Hexa-X-II (WS3), which featured keynote presentations from industry leaders like Apple and Orange. The workshop provided a platform for Hexa-X-II and other SNS-JU projects to present their progress and insights into 6G system vision, radio evolution, architecture, and values and requirements. The workshop exemplified Hexa-X-II’s role in fostering dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders in the telecommunications field.

Beyond the workshop, many Hexa-X-II experts took part in multiple sessions focused on key elements of 6G technology. Mikko Uusitalo from Nokia Bell Labs, leading Hexa-X-II, chaired discussions on RIS, and precoding as well as contributed to panels on 6G research and cooperation between and in member states and another session on next steps with 6G use cases. Patrik Rugeland from Ericsson made notable contributions to sessions on 6G architecture and radio advancements.

Mikko Uusitalo reflected on the event, saying, “The EuCNC & 6G Summit provided a unique opportunity to strengthen our linkage with other European and global activities in 6G in order to lay an even better foundation for joint work and smooth joint progress towards a robust and forward-looking 6G ecosystem.”
