Hexa-X-II deliverable D2.4 demonstrates early validation results toward the 6G system blueprint

Hexa-X-II Work Package 2 has released its fourth deliverable D2.4, showcasing the latest advancements towards a 6G blueprint system. This deliverable focuses on experimental results from the second phase of the System-level Proof of Concepts (System-PoC), named as System-PoC B, and the Security, Privacy and Resilience (SPR) enablers. The evaluation results highlight the alignment of the current system design with the 6G system design principles and provide a solid foundation for future 6G development.

E2E system validation of novel architecture enablers and aspects beyond communication

This deliverable assesses the design and experimental evaluation of key elements of system-PoC B, including intent-based management, automation with closed-loops for management and orchestration over the 6G cloud continuum, advanced application features, flexible topologies, compute offloading contributing to energy savings within devices and the exposure of compute/communication resources among other possible aspects beyond communications.

Two scenarios were evaluated: “Autonomous operation” and “Zero-touch Cobot-based video surveillance”. The first one focuses on automated inventory management, while the second one highlights the deployment of a surveillance service. Furthermore, PoC individual components aiming at Artificial Intelligence (AI) and making networks flexible are thoroughly described.

Implementing secure, resilient and privacy-based solutions for the 6G system

A second evaluation round focuses on security, with enablers (at different development stages) studying key topics like Physical Context Awareness and Anomaly Detection, JCAS Threat Mitigation, Quantum Cryptography, trustworthy AI and Distributed Ledgers Technologies.

Overall, these early evaluation results demonstrate the system’s ability to meet KPIs and KVIs essential for 6G networks, particularly for latency-sensitive services and through assessment of social, environment and economic sustainability within system PoC B.
